Engineered (Electrical) Drives

Customised Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) or engineered VFD solutions for Medium Voltage (MV) or Low Voltage (LV) applications

Perfect Harmony Gen III WC Engineered DrivesSiemens engineered (also known as electrical) drives designs are based on combining proven electronic modules with customer specific switchgear, cabinet requirements and cooling arrangements. This guarantees that performance specifications regarding ratings, enclosure type, ability to withstand environmental issues and supply authority limitations are adhered to.

Details

Engineered drives may be designed to incorporate various switchgear options including supply circuit breakers, line or load side switches/contactors and earthing switches.

Siemens offers a comprehensive range of variable frequency drives, also known as variable speed drives (VSD), including the Robicon Perfect, Harmony HV, Micro Harmony, Sinamics (GM150, SM150, G150, S150, S120), Micromaster, Fuji and Emotron.

Siemens also offer harmonic filters integrated into VFD cabinets, automatic by-pass of faulty modules, closed synchronous transition from VFD to fixed frequency grid power and regenerative and resistor type braking.

Medium Voltage (MV)/ High Voltage (HV) Drives:
Input voltage range: 415V - 33 kV
Output voltages: 2.2 - 13.8 kV
Power range: 200- 100 MW
Cooling: air-cooled up to max. 6.7 MW, water cooled from 1.5 MW
Degree of protection: IP21 or higher air cooling, IP52 water cooling

Low Voltage (LV) Drives:
Input voltage range: 415 - 1000V
Output voltages: 415, 525, 575, 690, 1000V
Power range: 0.75 - 900 kW @ 415 - 575V, up to 4000 kW @ 690V, up to 630 kW @ 1000V
Cooling: air, water and air conditioned options
Degree of protection: IP20 to IP54

Additionally, Siemens offers a comprehensive range of DC drives.
