Customer Requirements
Siemens identified a need among local oil and gas and major industrial companies for a local turbine servicing and refurbishment service. The challenge facing most customers was that they were often forced to extreme measures to have their industrial turbines serviced, sending them to Scotland, UK, due to a lack of local service availability. This resulted in long overhaul times, which kept vital equipment out of service for long periods of time.
Solution
We established the Siemens Turbomachinery Services (STS) workshop as an Asia Pacific hub for the refurbishment and upgrade of industrial steam and gas turbines and compressors. STS also has the ability to send emergency crews direct to a site, enabling customers to remain focused on their core business while their turbine issue is being resolved.
