Customer Requirements
Ford Australia required a totally automated safety system to be designed and installed for Ford’s automotive robotic production facilities. Ford wanted to improve production and offer a safer workplace. The centralised safety control systems needed to strike a delicate balance between ensuring the safety of workers and production equipment and ensuring that production would not be unnecessarily stalled, resulting in time or production losses.
Solution

Our technology provides a centralised control network that monitors all activity and operational parameters in real time, controlling safety shutdowns and alarms. The safety system was one of the first of its kind, placing Ford ahead of its competitors. It works with robotics and light curtains with immediate shutdown if risk is detected. The benefits include a safer, more efficient workplace and better productivity in manufacturing.
Benefits
Our solution provided:
- An integrated safety system with single control point
- Increased safety and efficiency with a "one stop shop" approach
- Minimisation of hazards through the use of light curtains, which trigger response if workers venture into dangerous range
- A system simple to program for maintenance and troubleshooting
