Siemens has expanded its SIMATIC product range with a new product line - the SIMATIC HMI Basic Panels designed for basic operator control and monitoring tasks. The KTP1000 Basic (10" display) and the TP1500 Basic (15" display) are the first devices of this product line now available.
Visualisation nowadays is part of the standard scope of most machines. Particularly in the case of smaller machines, the cost factor plays a major role. For simple applications, operator devices with basic functions are often considered as completely sufficient. This is exactly the demand we are accommodating with our new SIMATIC HMI Basic Panels in the display sizes of 4”, 6”, 10" and 15" - a new generation of touch screen devices for basic operator control and monitoring tasks.
The Basic Panels from SIMATIC HMI, in an attractive industrial design, offer a standard touchscreen display for the intuitive operation. The use of fully graphics-capable displays allows for a clear and high-contrast depiction of operating screens and opens up new perspectives for the visualisation.
Besides the touchscreen operation, the KTP400 Basic has four configurable keys with tactile feedback, while the KTP600 has six and the KTP1000 eight. For applications requiring larger visualisation depiction, the TP1500 Basic with a 15" touch screen display is available. All devices, independent of display size, support basic functions such as alarm system, recipe management, trend curve depiction and language switching in their standard scope. The range of the Basic Panels comprises models for the communication via Ethernet/PROFINET (basic functions), as well as MPI/PROFIBUS DP.
As with all SIMATIC operator devices, the configuration is carried out with SIMATIC WinCC flexible (from SIMATIC WinCC flexible 2008 SP1 Compact). This innovative engineering software assures the highest configuration efficiency. It is finely scalable to all HMI applications, matching different performance capabilities. Should the requirements change, the scalability of the consistent engineering software WinCC flexible also enables an easy switch to devices of other performance classes or display sizes at any time.
