Auckland, 16 September 2005
Siemens has today announced the amalgamation of the New Zealand Siemens Energy Services Limited business with the existing core operations of Siemens (NZ) Limited.
The amalgamation will have legal effect from 1 October 2005.
Chairman & Managing Director Siemens Australia and New Zealand, Albert Goller, said the decision to bring the businesses together consolidates and strengthens Siemens in New Zealand.
“As separate businesses, the New Zealand performance over the past few years has been pleasing,” said Mr Goller.
“Bringing the two businesses together confirms the Siemens long-term commitment to the New Zealand market and provides opportunities to deliver broader offerings to our clients.”
Gottfried Pausch has been appointed as Managing Director for the combined operations.
The appointment takes effect immediately.
Mr Pausch was previously the Chief Executive Officer for Siemens Energy Services Limited and has overseen the growth of the business since its formation in May 2001 following the acquisition of the United Networks Contracting Field Services business.
“The amalgamation of Siemens Energy Services with Siemens New Zealand enables further synergies to be realised across the diverse technology based solutions offered in power, communications, automation, transportation, healthcare and buildings segments,” said Mr Pausch.
“We have a genuine opportunity to grow and develop a sustainable, reliable and accountable business here in New Zealand.”
Since joining Siemens in 1986, Mr Pausch has held a number of senior positions across the Asia Pacific. Mr Pausch has a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering and has gained an MBA from Duke University in North Carolina USA.
