Applying
We realise that any recruitment process can seem like a daunting experience for a job applicant. Our aim is to make the recruitment process an enjoyable experience where each candidate feels comfortable and confident throughout the various stages.
To assist job applicants we have provided some tips below:
- Always check that you have the relevant education, qualifications, experience and other minimum criteria specified within the job advertisement.
- Think about your strengths, interests and career motivations – do they match the role on offer?
- Think about the location. Some of our roles call for you to travel or even relocate – are you comfortable with this?
- There is no need to complete your application all at once. You can return to the site as many times as you like before submitting your application. Please follow the instructions on the online application form.
- Remember to keep a record of your username and password so you can quickly return to your application at a later date via My Page. If you forget your password, click on My Page and “forgotten password” to have it emailed to you.
Interviewing
- Preparation is the key. Research our organisation by reading our website, looking at our brochures and talking to us at university career fairs.
- Think about potential questions you may be asked during your interview and consider some examples that you may want to use to demonstrate your skills and experience. These examples often come from your academic life, work experience or extracurricular activities.
- Interviews are a fantastic opportunity for you to ask questions of the interviewer. You may like to prepare some potential questions in advance.
- Remember: first impressions count. Ensure you arrive on time for your interview and that you are relaxed and presentable.
