Corporate Responsibility
We wish to contribute to our society and environment in positive ways. In addition to the contribution we make through our innovative technology, we encourage our businesses and staff to be aware of the environmental impacts of their actions and to be involved in their local communities.
We encourage our businesses to think broadly and creatively about their role in society, and our businesses have responded by supporting schools, charities and community projects. Our two main Corporate Responsibility programs are Siemens Generation21 and Siemens Caring Hands.
Environmental Sustainability

We recognise the importance of protecting the natural environment and embrace our responsibility to help create an environmentally sustainable future.
Our products, systems, solutions and services offer innovative solutions for the environment in areas such as climate change, energy and water. Our commitment and approach to environmental sustainability is outlined in our Environmental Sustainability Policy.
Generation21
Siemens Generation21 is a worldwide education program supporting students at schools and universities. We provide sponsorships, teaching materials and scholarships to gifted children, and support various training academies.
In Australia, the program supports many educational activities including university prizes, student exchange programs and the high-profile The Siemens Science Experience, as well as the Siemens RMIT Fine Arts Partnership.
Caring Hands
Through our Siemens Caring Hands program we focus on volunteering, disaster relief, social sponsorship, and supporting or donating to good causes.
We assist communities in need with water purification and power transmission, and provide medical equipment to help with immediate disaster relief. One example we are proud of is to have provided sustainable, clean drinking water for a village in Kenya.
Compliance
Siemens places great importance on its role as a responsible corporate citizen. This requires the company to conduct its affairs without exception in accordance with accepted ethical standards and in compliance with all relevant laws.
Employees and third parties can contact the compliance helpdesk "Tell Us" on a confidential basis if they have noticed any incorrect business practices in the Company which they wish to report. Alternatively Siemens has appointed an external ombudsman for the handling of complaints regarding irregular business practice, who can be contacted directly at mail@siemens-ombudsmann.de.
